Most ordering errors come from mixing linear, square, and cubic units. A yard is 3 feet long, but a square yard is 3 × 3 = 9 square feet and a cubic yard is 3 × 3 × 3 = 27 cubic feet. Always convert inches to feet (÷ 12) before multiplying dimensions.
